Best ways to gift an Ampler

How many of us have felt the joy of receiving that new bike – whether it was the first one as a child or later in life? Whether it’s a single-speed e-bike like Curt or a robust 9-speed Stout, a new Ampler is a cause for celebration. Our classic designs and hidden batteries will even add that extra layer of surprise. However, wrapping a bike is both difficult and hard to keep secret. We’ve explored the many ways of disguising that two-wheeled gift this winter; from the plain to the insane.

What type of e-bike wrapper are you?

Here’s a quick rundown of all the kinds of ways to gift an e-bike this year. From expert wrapping to elaborate planning, make their first day with an Ampler one to remember.

The Showoff

Nothing says a new bike for Christmas than… a new bike for Christmas. However, since our batteries are hidden within the frame, there’s still a fun surprise to be had even if they somehow guess they’re getting a new ride. If nothing else who wouldn’t be impressed by this commitment? If you’re not good at wrapping a bike we suggest making this a fun group activity so you don’t lose your mind.

The trickster

You have the option to trick that special someone either by going large or going small. As we ship Amplers in sustainable, flat packaging it can be hard to guess what might be in the box. A new TV, a PS5? Better, it’s a new e-bike, friend. Alternatively, purchase an ABUS lock with your order and place the key into a small box and watch their delight as you explain that it unlocks one of the best e-bikes on the market.

The suggester

Any cycling enthusiast knows that it doesn’t stop with the bike. Consider a subscription to a cycling magazine, replica bike models, a new helmet, or some new cycling gear. Inexpensive options like a planned cycling day or even bike-shaped cookies work too. Whatever you choose you can gift this with a note saying ‘enjoy the new ride’ before presenting them with the main present.

The mystery shopper

You have the option of selecting your Ampler at one of our showrooms across Europe. If you go this route you can arrange some last minute ‘Christmas shopping’, or just a day out. Your partner can pick their favourite Ampler to be hand-assembled and shipped to your home. We also have many in-stock bikes that are available for immediate purchase at some of our lowest prices.

The lazy wrapper

Put a bow on their new Ampler and surprise them during the day. The best part about this approach is it’s quick, easy and requires minimal effort. Another benefit is it doesn’t cost much to wrap a bike this way either. We’re confident though that as your loved one gazes upon their new two-wheel companion, the effort of putting a bow on a bike will be the last thing on their mind.

The practical joker

If you’re feeling particularly devious gift your loved one a range of inexpensive but boring presents. Just as they are at the point where they couldn’t be more disappointed with a new pair of oven mitts, there’s a ring at the door with the bike outside. Another method is to fake an emergency and when they come rushing to the scene the e-bike is waiting! You could even have a fake policeman ‘ticket’ them for incorrect bike parking while outside for a walk. (Note: these methods can sometimes end in tears).

The pirate

Turn their new bike into a game. Get together and design a map or a scavenger hunt leading them to the ultimate prize – a new Ampler e-bike. Consider ending the hunt at a location where they can try the bike out. It takes just over two hours to charge our e-bikes and they have a range of 70 km. So, if you want to end the game at a distant location be safe knowing they have the right tool to make it back easily and joyfully.
