An open letter from Eva Raigo, CEO of Ampler
Dear riders, friends and supporters,
Ampler began with a simple but powerful idea: an e-bike should be lightweight, intuitive, and as elegant as your favourite everyday bicycle. In 2014 that was almost unheard of, yet our first-generation bikes captured the hearts of thousands. We were redefining what an e-bike could be and earning the trust of riders who counted on us to keep the ride simple and reliable.
In 2022, we took a bold leap by launching our most ambitious line yet. But we moved too fast. The new tech added unexpected complexity that we hadn’t given ourselves enough time to test properly. Looking back, that rush led to bikes that didn’t meet our standards reaching customers before they were mature. As issues emerged, the trust we had carefully built over the years began to fade. The promises we made fell short, frustration grew, and we lost touch with the values that once built our name.
We came dangerously close to losing the company.
But instead of giving up, we chose to rebuild it.

Rebuilding from the inside
We hit pause, worked through each issue one bike at a time, and committed ourselves to making things right. Soon after, the entire industry was hit hard by the aftermath of the e-bike boom and the war: supply chains fell apart, demand collapsed, warehouses were overstocked, and funding dried up. Still, we held on. Because we believed in what we were building and the riders who stood by us.
That belief became our foundation.
Over the last year, we have been focused on fixing what went wrong and staying true to what Ampler stands for. With a new team of engineers, we set out to resolve the issues beneath the surface. We redesigned our battery system with a new, trusted manufacturer, improved water resistance of bike electronics and brought firmware development and diagnostics in-house. Then we pushed innovation even further – introducing the world’s first USB-C chargeable e-bike.

But it wasn’t just about the bike. Behind the scenes, we were reshaping the company itself. We faced difficult decisions that required us to streamline operations, cut unnecessary costs, reduce overhead, and re-align our priorities. Every move was made with long-term sustainability in mind. The result is a leaner, more resilient Ampler – focused on what matters most: the ride.
The people behind the rebuild
Through it all, our customer support and showroom teams became the heart of Ampler. While others were rebuilding systems, they stayed on the front line, keeping our connection to riders alive. Workload doubled, tools were limited, but they showed up and ensured every rider felt heard. Even when everything was under pressure, they made sure our values stayed visible. They didn’t just protect trust, they earned it back.
When a rider said, “I believed in you, please fix this,” we felt that. Deeply.
At the same time, we were building a stronger team across the board. We formed new leadership, brought in new energy, and expanded our technical capabilities with engineers who had led the design and development of connected e-vehicles and advanced mobility systems across Europe. This deep expertise from IoT to automotive-grade safety lives within Ampler, shaping our future. With the launch of the new Nova, that progress is on full display.

A new standard, 4 years in writing
We say this with certainty: Nova is the best bike we have ever built. Drawing on everything we learned from thousands of rides, it refines our legacy into the most complete Ampler yet.
And for the first time ever, we are backing it with a 4-year warranty.
That’s not just a promise. It’s a statement about our absolute confidence in the product. We have never offered a warranty like this before because we have never built a bike like this before.
The first batch of Nova sold out in a week, and the response has been incredible. This isn’t just a comeback. It’s the start of a new chapter – for the company, the team, and the community whom we’re proud to ride alongside.
Thank you to those who stayed through the rough seas. Welcome to those just joining us. And to the team who rebuilt Ampler, I couldn’t be more proud.
This is the new Ampler. And the road ahead is bright.
