Although riding one of our lightweight e-bikes is a treat on its own, you can make the trip even better by checking out our recommended places to see. Luckily for our Berlin test riders, the Showroom is surrounded by renowned historic landmarks as well as interesting routes and parks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<cta title=\"Start exploring\" subtitle=\"\" class=\"wp-block-ampler-cta\"><buttons><button index=\"0\" color=\"green\" title=\"Book a test ride\" path=\"https:\/\/amplerbikes.com\/[locale]\/test-ride\"><\/button><\/buttons><\/cta>\n\n\n\n<p>Come see what we have to offer and get the absolute most from the experience. We\u2019re on Yorckstra\u00dfe with access to Kreuzberg, Sch\u00f6neberg, and Mitte, to name a few. You have 30 minutes to test ride an Ampler and it should be a half hour of pure enjoyment. Cycle by our friends at <a href=\"https:\/\/urban-nation.com\/\">Urban Nation<\/a>, Berlin\u2019s street art museum, where you can find an abundance of this particular medium all in one place. Located on the vibrant B\u00fclowstra\u00dfe, it\u2019s a fun route through a lively district that will give you a sense of how much better commuting is on an urban e-bike. Better yet, admission is free if you want to visit an exhibition after your test ride.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checkpoint Charlie&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Distance: 2.6 Km&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riding time there: 10 min<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suggested Ampler: Stout<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the city was divided between the east and west there was one crossing point that\u2019s still famous today: Checkpoint Charlie. Thankfully, while the Berlin Wall no longer stands, you can still ride through the ghost of its shadow down Friedrichstra\u00dfe. An old guard station stands as a reminder and there\u2019s usually an actor dressed up as an East German or US soldier. Before the blockade was lifted the solution was to send planes of resources to the Tempelhof airfield. It\u2019s no longer a functional airport but instead, a beloved public park where you can test the speed and handling of the bike as you take off down the old runways.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brandenburger Tor&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Distance: 3.9 Km&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riding time there: 14 min<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suggested Ampler: Curt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps Berlin\u2019s most iconic landmark; you can cycle to Brandenburg Tor in just 15 minutes from our showroom. The gate was built in the late 1700s on order of Prussian King Frederick William II. Erected in celebration of defeating the Dutch Popular Unrest it stands on the original city gate site of Berlin. Relax, enjoy the views, and see how the bike is performing. It has a level terrain built over a former shipping yard; making it perfect for gentle cycling. Gleisdreieck is also beautifully maintained with wide cycling lanes running along exercise areas, flat greens and a skate park. It even borders the Deutsche Techniker Museum. If you want somewhere that\u2019s quiet, open, and quick to access &#8211; this is the perfect spot to test all elements of the bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kottbusser Damm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Distance: 2.5 km<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riding time there: 9 min<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suggested Ampler: Stout<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1920\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.ampler.bike\/a\/20220826100156\/PXL_20220825_111937144-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Kottbusser Damm test ride Stout\" class=\"wp-image-78010\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.ampler.bike\/a\/20220826100156\/PXL_20220825_111937144-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/assets.ampler.bike\/a\/20220826100156\/PXL_20220825_111937144-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/assets.ampler.bike\/a\/20220826100156\/PXL_20220825_111937144-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><figcaption>If you listen closely you can hear the techno music in the distance. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kottbusser Damm is the boundary of Berlin\u2019s three funkiest neighbourhoods: Kreuzberg, Neuk\u00f6lln and Friedrichshain. On sunny days you can find locals sunbathing by the canal, swathes of swans, and even the odd paddle boarder and kayaker on the water. The bridges Baerwaldbr\u00fccke and Admiralbr\u00fccke are surrounded by beautiful old apartment buildings, niche cafes and artisan shops. It was named after the only daughter of Kaiser Wilhelm II. It\u2019s located in Sch\u00f6neberg next to the U-Bahn station of the same name, which was the first subway station in Berlin. The architect behind the park, Fritz Encke, designed it to blend perfectly with the entrance in a lavish and jubilant fashion. Enjoy a cycle around the fountain, admiring the ornaments and surrounding architecture.
